Pastoral Letter - July 2022

Dear Friends in Christ,

July opens a new fiscal year in our church and a refreshing outlook on being good stewards. God has placed in our trust a measure of time, a unique set of talents, and sufficient treasure to carry out His will for our lives. Our task as faithful stewards is to manage those blessings to bring the maximum glory to His name.

1. Recognize That Everything You “Own” Actually Belongs to God:

All that we have, we possess by the grace and gift of God. As Christian stewards we must realize that in Christ we live and move and have our being. Jesus Christ created us. He bought us with His precious blood. God anointed Him as our Lord and placed everything under His authority. Thus, the whole of our life – our personality, influence, material substance, everything – is His.

2. Realize That It Is More Blessed to Give Than to Receive:

When you give freely of yourself and of your possessions as a material expression of your spiritual obedience to Christ, God in turn meets your needs abundantly. Giving begins an endless circle of joy. God gives; you receive. You give; He receives. He then multiplies your gift back to you in the form of additional supply.

3. Realize That What You Sow, You Will Reap

To reap anything, you must first plant a seed. Whether your gift is measured in cash or goods or any other medium of exchange, whatever you give is a seed that you sow for an expected harvest. To reap a bountiful harvest you must sow your best seed. This means that the best of your life – the best of your time, the best of your talents, the best of your treasure, the best of everything you have – should be on the altar of sacrifice to God.

4. Give to Glorify God

As a steward of God’s resources, you have but one purpose: to glorify Him. Your number one priority is God – to love, obey, and glorify God. Putting God first in your time, talents, and treasure must be the goal of your stewardship.

5. Give from the Heart

We give to please God and express our love to Him. We give out of obedience to our Lord’s command to lay up treasures in heaven. We give to be a channel of God’s abundant resources to a desperately needy world.

My dear friends! Christian faith is about giving; giving to those in need; giving to the work of God; giving to glorify God. What we give will be returned to us many times over. We have Christ’s word on it!

Queridos amigos en Cristo,

Julio se abre a un nuevo año fiscal en nuestra iglesia y una perspectiva refrescante en la buena administración. Dios ha puesto en nuestra confianza, una medida de tiempo, un conjunto único de talentos, y un tesoro suficiente para llevar a cabo su voluntad en nuestras vidas. Nuestra tarea como administradores fieles es gestionar esas bendiciones para lograr la máxima gloria de su nombre.

1. Reconocer que todo lo que usted “posee” en realidad pertenece a Dios:

Todo lo que tenemos, lo poseemos por la gracia y el don de Dios. Como cristianos debemos darnos cuenta que en Cristo vivimos y movemos y tenemos nuestro ser. Jesús Cristo nos creó. Él nos compró con su sangre preciosa. Dios lo ungió como nuestro Señor y coloco todo bajo su autoridad. Así, todo el conjunto de nuestra vida, nuestra personalidad, la influencia, la sustancia material, todo, es suyo.

2. Darse cuenta de que el dar es más bienaventurado que recibir:

Cuando usted se da libremente así mismo y de sus posesiones como expresión material de su obediencia espiritual a Cristo, Dios a su vez satisface sus necesidades abundantemente. Dando comienza un círculo interminable de alegría. Dios nos da; usted recibe. Usted da; El recibe. Él entonces multiplica su regalo a usted en la forma de alimentación adicional.

3. Darse cuenta de que lo que siembres, cosecharás:

Para obtener algo, primero debe plantar una semilla. Si tu regalo es medido en dinero o bienes o cualquier otro medio de intercambio, lo que usted da es una semilla que siembra para cosechar. Para cosechar una cosecha abundante debe sembrar su semilla mejor. Esto significa que lo mejor de tu vida – lo mejor de su tiempo, lo mejor de sus talentos, lo mejor de su tesoro, lo mejor de todo lo que tienes, debe ser en el altar del sacrificio a Dios.

4. Dar para glorificar a Dios

Como un administrador de recursos de Dios, usted tiene un propósito: glorificarle. Su prioridad número uno es Dios, amar, obedecer y glorificar a Dios. Poner a Dios primero en su tiempo, talentos y tesoro debe ser el objetivo prioritario de su administración.

5. Dar desde el corazón

Damos para agradar a Dios y expresar nuestro amor a él. Le damos obediencia al mandato de nuestro Señor a hacernos tesoros en el cielo. Le damos para ser recursos abundantes de un canal de Dios para un mundo desesperadamente necesitado.

¡Mis queridos amigos! La Fe cristiana es acerca de dar; dando a los necesitados; dando a la obra de Dios; dando para glorificar a Dios. Lo que damos volverá a nosotros muchas veces más. ¡Tenemos la palabra de Cristo en ello!
