A Heart-To-Heart With Gen Z

Question from a teenager: Fr. Linh, as a teenager in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing world, I often find myself questioning my faith and struggling to trust in God. How can I anchor my faith and find courage in Him amidst the challenges and distractions of modern life?

Fr. Linh: Thank you for reaching out and sharing your honest struggles. It takes courage to admit your doubts and fears, and I want to assure you that you are not alone and that God is your constant source of strength and guidance.

When the world feels uncertain and overwhelming, remember that God remains faithful and unchanging. He is your rock and refuge, always ready to give you the courage and peace you need to face life’s ups and downs. The Bible is filled with stories of people like Moses, Joshua, Esther, David, who trusted God and found the courage to face their fears.

You, too, can find the strength to face your challenges by putting your trust in God. He is with you every step of the way, and His love for you knows no bounds. One of the most powerful ways to experience God’s presence and draw courage from Him is through the Eucharist.

When you receive Holy Communion, you are intimately united with Jesus Christ, the ultimate source of strength and courage. The Eucharist nourishes your soul, reminding you that you are never alone and that God’s grace is always available to you. Make participating in the Eucharist a central part of your life, and take time to pray and reflect on God’s love for you.

Surround yourself with a supportive faith community that can encourage and uplift you in your journey. The Church is here to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and the sacraments to help you grow in your relationship with God.

Remember, courage is not the absence of fear but the decision to trust in God and move forward in faith. You are a cherished child of God, and He has a wonderful plan for your life. Keep seeking Him, trusting in His love, and drawing strength from the Eucharist. With God as your anchor and the Eucharist as your nourishment, you have the courage to face any challenge that comes your way.
